This is the third poetry collection by former teacher, Tim Hopkins. His teaching in primary schools gave the author a sense for the kind of poems that children enjoy. In the first place, formal verses which rhyme are preferred to free verse, and in terms of subjects, poems about children are understandably popular, as are poems about animals, and humourous poems. This collection contains all these features and it is hoped that children, as well as their parents and teachers, will find much to please in Poems for the Young at Heart.

In addition to poetry for adults and children, Tim Hopkins has published two novels for teenagers, and written humorous material for comedians and cartoonists. He has also composed songs that have been performed and recorded in the UK and the USA.
